Bio

Lisa Rimmert is a writer, comedian, and author of Stay: My Forever Friendship with an Aging Dog, which won a silver Bill Fisher Award for Best First Book (Nonfiction) as part of the IBPA’s 2022 Benjamin Franklin Award program.

Before authoring and self-publishing her first book, Lisa spent 15 years as a professional marketer and fundraiser, helping organizations to communicate about and further their good work. Since launching her own business, On The Nose, LLC, in 2021, Lisa provides communication services, consulting, and comedy.

Lisa hosts the podcast Paws for Effect, on which she interviews humans who communicate about animals. She also runs a blog called Weird! Why Aren’t You Vegan?, which features comedians and other funny people answering snarky questions about why they’re not (yet) vegan.

Lisa holds a master’s degree in public relations from Webster University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s in mass communication from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Women Funders in Animal Rights (WFAR), and the Open Mic Collective PNW.
